A Dry White Wine AOC
This AOC’s name comes from the location of its vineyards, which form a triangle bordered by the region’s two main rivers, the Gironde and the Dordogne, and the Atlantic Ocean. The ocean dictates the rivers’ tides and established the climate, providing cool air to tame the area’s hot summers. Thriving in the primarily clay-limestone soils, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle and Semillon produce fragrant, lively white wines that should be consumed young. Semillon is round on the palate, while Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle offer liveliness and aromatic intensity. The latest studies on white wine aromas conducted by the Bordeaux oenology institute noted that these wines offer excellent quality for the price.
